Anyway, without influences from the outside world, we cannot do much. And I have received a lot of inspiration from artists like Yves Klein, Mark Rothko, Jackson Pollock, Vincent van Gogh, Rembrandt, Serge Poliakoff and Nicolas de Staël. I guess these represents the most important ones for me. And writers, such as Novalis, Thomas Bernhard, Nietzsche, Pascal, Schopenhauer, Inger Christensen, Meister Eckehardt, and the ancient poets of Persia and India and China who lived two thousand years ago, has been very important, too. And Bach, Vivaldi, Glenn Gould and Jordi Savall, and a whole lot of composers and musicians like them, makes life worth while to me. From jazz to complete silence, from Paris to the light green and extraordinary beautiful rice fields of Asia, from the taste of a SURPRISINGLY bizarre vintage red wine to the smell of fresh grounded coffee, from the crystal clear water of a forgotten well in France to a sunset in the mountains of Norway. I mean; quality, exquisite quality, what would life be without it.
